To continue my argument about the best greek band of all time...well... at this point of time, Neon , an experimental-classical duo from Athens are probably one of the most serious contestants for the title. They have released three albums till now. A full-length debut called au theatre de sons imaginaires by poeta negra and the other two are self-released soundtracks for theatre plays. I firmly believe that they are one step ahead than anything that is released today in the greek music scene. They are currently unasigned and their new un-released album is a quite interesting case of modern interpretations of classical pieces. They first caught my attention with this track: la valse des oiseaux.mp3 They even caught my mom's attention with this song and her favorite artist is phill collins! Great stuff!

I guess the best greek band of all time in my humble opinion was and still is Villa 21*. They used english lyrics in their songs and they were formed in the early 80s. It was a new wave/ post punk band and quite underground because of that. They released 3 lps. The first two in the legendary greek label Creep Records. They lasted less than 10 years and then the singer died tragically in a car accident. I was too young in those years to catch them live but I always thought they were great and I had one superb song in my argument to make my point. In time I discovered one more and I felt more than content.
